IMG_0141I don’t think I can think of a better day than loading up a trail ways bus with 30 ladies and heading to the Marietta Georgia area to spend the day visiting four area quilt shops. They call this a Quilt Shop Hop. I guess it got its name because you visit one shop and hop on to the next. At each stop you make they give you some kind of gift for visiting that shop. We left at 7:30 am and headed south on a bus full of laughter, lots of food, and good conversation. The first quilt shop was Cottontail Quilts in Kennesaw, Ga. This was an old house turned into a quilt shop and was just full of great fabrics and patterns and notions. The next stop was Little Quilts in Marietta, Ga. I felt like a kid in a candy store. Who cared that we were an hour late for lunch. I was having too much fun with fabrics!!!!

After lunch we went on down the road trip to Red Hen Fabrics. If you can’t find it here then you just can’t find it. This place is a warehouse turned quilt shop. What a great place! Last but not least on our trip was Tiny Stitches in Marietta, Ga. This shop just like the others was a great quilt shop. It too was filled with rows and rows of bolts of fabrics that any quilter could drool over.

And then all to soon it was time to board the bus and start our journey home. The chatter on the bus this time was sharing each other’s purchases, sharing our aches and pains, and passing out more food!! Even though many of us didn’t need to add to our existing stash of fabric, we as quilters know that just maybe that piece may come in handy one day!!!
